The purpose of Employment Resources, Inc. is to provide quality employment opportunities to persons with disabilities.

PRINCIPLES AND VALUES

HISTORY

Employment Resources was established in 1988 to provide employment services to persons with developmental disabilities as community services were developed by the state of Oklahoma.  Employment Resources was the pioneering agency designed to put persons with severe disabilities to work at good jobs in the community in integrated settings.

Contracts with the state of Oklahoma for employment services were implemented in 1989 and have been in force each year since that time.

Services were expanded to Enid, Oklahoma City and underserved areas of the state in 1996.

In 1998 our fee for service was changed to an outcome base3d contract.  Our conversion from an hourly fee to a milestone payment system has created a leaner, more productive agency.

In 1999 services were again expanded to the Oklahoma City area.  Also, in 1999 we began to provide employment services to persons with mental illnesses.  The service needs of this population are immense across the state.

Last year a contract was signed with the Social Security Administration to become an Alternate Provider of vocational rehabilitation services.  Implementation of the Ticket to Work program will occur this year.
